Posts Tagged ‘soft scrub’

I am thrilled to share this recipe for a gentle soft scrub cleanser with you.  It’s homemade, smells so fresh with the lemon essential oil, although you control the ingredients so you can use any scent you prefer and is inexpensive to make.  Use any type of bottle which has a squirt top, like a dish soap container.  I used a condiment bottle I picked up at Big Lots last summer.

Ingredients

1 Cup Baking Soda

1/4 Cup Liquid Castile Soap

Essential Oil (I used appx. 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil)

Water

Directions

Combine the first 3 ingredients in the container you are using.  Start adding water a little at a time.  Shake the ingredients thoroughly until it reaches a smooth paste form as indicated in the photo.  Use this soft cleanser just as you would the commercially produced name brand.  Apply to surface, scrub with a damp cloth or sponge and scrub.  Rinse with clear water until residue is gone.  I love the results as I depict in this photo.  You can get very creative and use scents to match the season.  For example, a pine or peppermint will leave a Christmas holiday scent permeating throughout your home while Lemon or Lavender is wonderful for spring and summer.
